Very timely with current life events and useful reminders to focus on how God is working in, around, and through you.
Summary:
While many Christians pray often or think about Jesus and The Father, how often do we think of the Holy Spirit? After all, He's an equal entity to the other two in the Trinity, and He's the one that is actually dwelling in us. Becky Thompson goes through the aspects of who the Holy Spirit is so that we can come to recognize Him better and work with Him in our spiritual lives.
Verdict: 8.5/10
While certain sections of this book felt like beginner level, Thompson had a way of explaining the vastness of who the Holy Spirit is and what He does in a way that made Him easier to relate to and grasp (as much as possible anyway). Several of these chapters grabbed hold of me right where I was and made me pay attention to things I otherwise might have overlooked.
It's always difficult to review spiritual books because I believe God can speak through any Biblically-based text if you're looking for Him. So the content was what I latched on to the most. The book was also well-written, though I think a little heavy-handed at times. I also spaced out my reading so that I went through two or three chapters a week, which helped a lot with the pacing.
I do feel a lot closer to the Spirit now. I won't attribute that solely to the book as I think that was more God's handiwork through events in my life. But reading Thompson's accounts and devotions reminded me to look more actively for what He was doing and listen for His instruction more clearly. For that, I will recommend this book.
